Cascadia Minerals (TSXV) has reported its highest grade gold and silver samples to date from the Catch Property in Yukon.
The junior explorer, valued at C$15.2 million ($16.8 million), has identified significant mineralization at the Amp Zone, with gold grades reaching up to 1,065 grams per tonne (g/t) and silver grades up to 267g/t from outcrop samples. Another sample, weighing 1.4kg and taken from a different section of the same outcrop, returned grades of 47.2g/t gold and 19.3g/t silver.
According to Cascadia, these findings indicate the presence of a substantial and well-preserved epithermal target associated with a nearby porphyry system.
CEO Graham Downs noted that while epithermal gold-silver mineralization is often linked with porphyry systems, such occurrences are not always preserved. He emphasized the significance of discovering such high-grade mineralization over 1km north of a newly confirmed porphyry discovery, highlighting the Amp Zone as another significant target within the property’s expansive area.
In 2023, additional prospecting at Amp yielded samples showing 0.21% copper alongside 4.82g/t gold from outcrop.
Cascadia further highlighted significant copper mineralization in rock samples from the Amp Zone. A subcrop sample taken in 2023, situated 60m northwest of the high-grade gold-silver outcrop, returned 1.68% copper with 0.72g/t gold. Another sample from the same year reported 2.13% copper in outcrop.
The company believes these findings indicate the potential for both copper-gold porphyry deposits at depth and epithermal gold-silver mineralization at the surface within the Amp Zone.
These latest results stem from a phase-one exploration program at the Catch Property, which included prospecting, mapping, and diamond drilling. Three diamond drill holes totaling 1,613 meters were completed at the Spark Zone, alongside the collection of 89 rock samples.
Currently, Cascadia is progressing with a phase-two exploration program that includes further prospecting, mapping, diamond drilling, and induced polarization surveys.
Downs emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing exploration efforts at the Amp Zone and other targets, concurrent with ongoing drilling operations at Spark. He also noted that soil sampling and prospecting activities are underway at Sands of Time, Macks Copper, and Milner properties, all of which hold early-stage potential for copper-gold porphyry deposits.
