Valuation Gap Narrows Between Private and Public Markets
Ian Patrick, the Chief Investment Officer of the Australian Retirement Trust, Australia’s second-largest superannuation fund, reported that the valuation gap between private and public markets is beginning to close. This shift comes after several months of declining returns in the private sector, largely attributed to significant investments in hard-to-value assets.
During the Australian Financial Review Super & Wealth Summit held on Tuesday, Patrick stated that buyers and sellers of private assets are “coming closer together.” He oversees a substantial portfolio worth $330 billion, highlighting the evolving landscape in private markets.
