Chubb has appointed Ben Howell as the new country president for its general insurance operations in Australia and New Zealand. Howell, currently serving as the executive vice president and head of consumer for Chubb Asia Pacific (APAC), brings over twenty years of experience in the insurance industry. His career at Chubb began in 2002 as an underwriter in Sydney, and after gaining experience with other global insurers, he rejoined Chubb in 2016.
In his new role, Howell will oversee Chubb’s property and casualty as well as personal lines operations across the two countries. He will report to Marcos Gunn, the regional president of APAC. Howell succeeds Peter Kelaher, who has been appointed Division President for Continental Europe, Middle East, and North Africa at Chubb.
Pending regulatory approval, Howell is set to assume his new responsibilities starting from 1 September.
